A year playing … (part I)

Now that I have some free time, I have managed to rearrange all the pictures taken last year at our gaming club. With the help of the pics taken also by Ramon we may now summarize our playing during 2012.

One of our first plans was to play more games over Vassal by using the excellent ACTS system. To begin with, we need some games with easily to grasp rules, letting all the difficulties to get used with vassal and acts systems. Alberto Molina proposed to play The Napoleonic Wars and to see the system we played a few times face-to-face.

TNW is a card-driven game for 2-5 players during the time of Napoleon dominance in Europe. For face-to-face play is a fast, funny game with interesting strategical choices and different play as a function of the power you are controlling. For pbem play we did not manage pretty well to coordinate four players and the pace of the game was quite low. These are some pictures of the learning sessions at the club:

As everybody was in Napoleonic mood some people suggest to play a real big Napoleonic monster game. The choice (and played during main part of 2012) was an old classic:

This is THE game of diplomacy and warfare during Napoleonic Wars. I was not involved myself in this Thursday’s play because i only could play on Tuesdays but, nevertheless, i could take some pics:

In total, I believe that two campaign games were played during last year. And I must to admit, this is a REAL MONSTER game as you may see in the following picture:

Is everybody afraid of Napoleon – the monster?
